Short Bio
I am a full professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), teaching classes in the Control and Automation Course and Pos-graduation in Automation and Systems Engineering course since 2002. Being from Rio de Janeiro, I had my bachelor degree in Computing Science at UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) in 1989. I have some professional experience by working in software development companies in Rio de Janeiro. I pursued my Computing Science master’s degree in 1995 and my Electrical Engineering doctorate in 1999, both at UFSC. I was head of Automation and Systems Department (DAS) at UFSC from 2014 to 2018.

Scientific production
I was the advisor of about 24 master’s students, 14 doctoral students and one postdoctoral researcher. In the last 5 years I published 14 papers in indexed international journals and more than 20 papers in Brazilian and international conferences. I co-authored the first Brazilian book on Interactive Digital TV, which in its two editions has around 300 citations in Google Scholar.
